OIF and Doc A partner to launch the ACP DOConnect Mentorship Programme

L’Organisation International de la Francophonie (OIF) and DocA – Documentary Africa have partnered to launch the African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP) DOConnect Mentorship Programme that seeks to match experienced co-producers with aspiring documentary makers.

The inaugural programme will feature the selection of 9 documentary projects seeking South-South
Co-production. 

Thereafter, the producers of the above projects will be matched by experienced co-producers from ACP countries.

The 9 documentary producers together with the co-producers will participate in a 6-week mentorship program which will include intense documentary co-production development labs.

The main objectives of this programme is to initiate the effective co-production matches and increase South-South co-production within ACP countries, develop polished documentary co-production proposals and prepare documentary projects to better access global markets.

In terms of eligibility, only documentary production companies incorporated in ACP countries can apply for this program. 

Directors of the applicant projects must be nationals of any of the ACP countries (Excluding the Republic of South Africa) and the  project budget should not be less than 140,000 Euros. 

The documentary project should be at least 30 minutes long. Mid/Feature length and Documentary Series will also be considered for the mentorship programme..

The call is issued in both English and French, however, artistic documents, synopsis, treatment and director’s notes can also be submitted in Portuguese, Arabic and Swahili.

Applications for the programme close on 31 July 2022.
